i replaced shorted SMP output and drive transistor. now it starts but runs only in standby half voltages. as per a tip i shorted q-693 base to ground and the set plays fine. i cant find any shorted diodes or transistors. this must be a common problem with this model. i have 2 here with the same symptom. any help appreciated thank you, Larry
