Ed, Maybe Philips wouldn't jumper a resistor,....but,..look who built the unit. "FUNAI". Now don' t that raise an eye brow ? The original resistor is still in tact, and it is a 2.7 ohm. It has 3 more resistors in series with it, and they are ALL 2.7 ohms each. Go figure. 4 X 2.7 = total of 10.8 ohms. Short ONE out, and you get 7.1 ohms. Looks like they were fine tuning the Reg. to run at a certain level. I guess I better leave it alone. ;-)
