This is a weird one for me.. Got a relay call(evidently from a deaf person) requesting
some DVD players.
Asked if I ship over-seas, I said no. Then asked if I shipped to Iowa, I said yes. She
said her husband
was overseas. I have three DVD players here and the person wanted all three. To make a
long story short,
at the end of several messages he/she requested "credit card be rang through now".
Then several requests
to send tracking number and ship right away. I said I can't until Monday morning,
person said to call with
the tracking number at 3 am.(Told you it was weird). I said by noon.
I received an address with an apt. Called the Visa hotline and found out this card is
drawn on an overseas
bank.
I have her name as Jennifer and she said the name on the credit card is Osama..or
something like that..
Anyway, I found out if this is a fraud, it is on the merchant, not the Visa. If I send
these, with
signature requested am I safe? If I request a FAX of the credit card, front and back
and the husband
signature am I safe?
I get the feeling most of you will say dump it!
I also just wanted to let others know, just in case...
Also, is there anyone I should contact?
