Jeff,
DO NOT SEND ANY EQUIPMENT TO THESE PEOPLE.
This is a fraud.
They had contacted our store about 2 weeks ago and wanted to purchase about
20 thousand dollars of equipment over the phone, by credit card, immediate
shipment. First to overseas then to somewhere in US to a PO Box of all
things. I mean come on 20G's of stuff, SIGHT UNSEEN...get real.
Needless to say we did not fall for it.
We contacted Visa, when they could not tell us for certain that the card was
Actually in the cardholders possesion, we contacted our local police, they
in turn instructed us to contact the FBI. Which we did and it turns out that
they were aware of these people and asked us if we had sent anything. We
said no and they told us, Good ...Don't.
They called repeatedly for 3 days. Then one of the salesmen cursed a blue
streak at them (through the relay operator of course) telling them not to
tie up our phone lines you f****** crooks etc.....

So that was our experience with the Visa order by telephone relay.

The only advice i have for any shop would be not to take CC# over the phone
unless you know the customer or know it is a NORMAL transaction. Nothing
through a relay operator and no unusual shipping requests, no multiple items
totaling large $ amounts bought sight unseen.
