Hey Walter, I usually pull suspect boards and take them out behind the shop into direct sunlight on a clear day. It's amazing what you can see in direct sunlight! I've always had the notion that a skylight directly over the bench would be a good idea. But I rent my shop and would be hard pressed to get permission to install one.
