Well,...what dosn't make any sense, is the fact that the set was sold as a non-remote receiver, and they didn't put a remote with it,...but it had all the needed IR ckts. to make the set work. Just NO window. Even though it's an older set, I'm sure adding a remote wouldn't have cost them that much. Your right,...they couldn't have been more cheap then that. Then to top it off,...they make you replace the whole cabinet to repair a broken control button. Our cost back then, was about $85 for a cabinet front. A $3 plastic button assy., would have been more reasonable. ;-)
