Sony monitor HMD-A400 Mfd. 09/2001... excessive screening then shutdown... Hi All, Cust brought above unit in for shutting down. When I fired unit it comes on with excessive screening and retrace then shuts down after a minute or less. Flyback has 3 controls. Focus which works. G2 which works exactly as a focus control and a permanently sealed screening control which I cannot adjust. Cust also claimed that once in awhile if she hit the unit hard enough and just right it may come back on momentarily then out again. I want to obviously check pc connects, but Sony has this unit built like a tank. The hardest part is going to be disassembling of the unit even the CRT board to expose anything. So I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this unit before i attempt to disassemble. Even if i'm lucky enough to find bad pc connects it's going to be a couple hours work and if I don't see any obvious bad pc connects I was wondering if anyone could give me a lead on what all to check once i've gone this far. Sure hope someone can help......
