Thanks Frank..
I doubt it's the EEPROM, since I remove the vertical yoke connector and get a 
horizontal line. Lately, it
seems I decide to do what I think is going to be a quick repair, while I wait on parts 
for another
set...and it's ends up not being the norm...gets frustrating.
Someone sent me the schematic of the vertical section, so hopefully I'll get it on 
Monday.

Ala Cleo, I pull out my scratched water glass and stare into the empty
depths trying to come up with an answer.
 I "see"  possibly a broken trace to the vert at the solder pad of the IC,
or possibly a bad crimp connection to the yokeconnector, assuming you used a
quality replacement for the vert ic.
 "Fraid thats all I can think of.
 You should also be able to run that chassis with the eeprom totally
removed, as PCE only stores customer preference data in the IC on that
model.
