Subject: [Techs] Sanyo DS19630 / ch-19630-00 relay clicks on then off

Sanyo DS19630
chassis 19630-00
mfd-1996

Original problem relay clicks on then off. found HOT (D1685) shorted.
Replaced with a new (D1685) that says Sanyo on it even though I didn't
order OEM. Fired with variac at 100v AC, B+ 80vdc and relay still
clicked on then off. HOT ok with variac. Removed regulator (STR30135)
which seems to check ok, B+ went to 139vdc relay still on then off.
Turned variac down to 85v AC, B+ went down to 115vdc relay still on then
off. Sounds to simple, what am I overlooking...??? Even If generic HOT
that says Sanyo x-istor was not a good replacement, would it still react
this way with regulator removed...??? No Print.
Thanks "joe"
