Now, the last Sony I repaired which had original 2SD4927, I used a 2SD1880 and the thing ran hardly even warm at all. Personally, I wouldn't install a HOT with a built in damper if the set has a separate damper, unless I removed the separate damper from the circuit. Did you try that?
