I thought I would post this to the list since some people tend to act hastily when 
they receive these
types of emails.
The emails may look like they belong to your bank and the web page you are directed to 
is the same...be
cautious and call the bank..

Beware of Bank Scams

We are seeing an increase over the last two weeks in the number of scam e-mails 
purporting to be from
banks and financial institutions, asking recipients to go to a Web site and update 
their account
information. One common example claims to be from Wells Fargo and states that your 
account has been
"frozen" until you go to a Web site and verify your account information. Another 
purports to be from
Citibank and states that they are updating their software and need you to confirm your 
account data.

This is a form of "phishing" for account numbers, PINs, etc. that can be used to 
remove money from your
bank account. Most banks will not notify you of account problems via e-mail. If you 
think such a message
might actually be from your bank, we recommend that you call the bank and provide the 
information they
need over the phone, rather than online. For more about phishing, see:
