Frank,
HDMI stand for High-Definition Multimedia Interface. This connection provides High
Definition video AND
audio.
DVI is video only and going by the wayside, I believe.
They are not compatible.

Subject: [Techs] help needed Toshiba hookup to Dish 811

We are attempting to hook up a Toshiba 46H84 HDTV to a Dish Network 811
receoiver.
The Toshiba has HDMI connectionbs on the back and the Dish rec has DVI.
 Are these the same?
It appears to be a special cable needed if they are compatable- and we need
tro know where we can get one.
Thanks,
Bob
