The UNIX Systems Analyst is responsible for coordinating operating system rollouts, implementing add-on software, administrating server hardware platforms, and managing the server life cycle in support the web and UNIX infrastructure. These add-on software products include message queuing software, enterprise java application server, and operating system management tools. The primary tasks include: implementation of work plans/and or designs for the UNIX infrastructure, configuration, installation, administration and troubleshooting of UNIX server hardware and operating system and web and middleware software on the UNIX infrastructure. This person will also provide second-level support to other areas, both within and out of IT, clearly document maintenance and support procedures for routine tasks in order to leverage tier 1 support and work closely with Systems Engineering and Application Services to ensure proper implementation of UNIX systems and strategies BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field is required. Knowledge of various implementations of UNIX (Solaris, Linux, HP-UX). Weblogic experience is required. Knowledge of UNIX hardware platforms and other components (CPU, clusters, storage area networks, disk and tape arrays, and special equipment such as DVD, CD or optical disk). Knowledge of UNIX System Administration tasks. Basic knowledge of security policies. Basic knowledge of Shell and Perl programming. Experience with Maximo and/or Oracle Application Server is a plus.
