Position Purpose: 

In this role you will provide subject matter expertise in Enterprise
Architecture for the areas including but not limited to Application
Architecture, SOA, Data, and Security. Provide technical stated directions,
standards, guidelines, and best practices for the architectural building
blocks across the enterprise. Key customers include the Global
Infrastructure Management Team, Application Development Teams, IT Directors
and Solution Architects, Area of the World Technology Leads, CTO, IT
Outsourcing Provider, and the management of partner brands. 

Principal Accountabilities: 

In addition to following policies and procedures, principal accountabilities
include, but are not limited to: 

Technology Standards Development

? Maintains in-depth up-to-date knowledge of standards, guidelines, industry
trends, etc., for one or more architectural/infrastructure specialties.
Shares knowledge of specialty areas/best practices across the enterprise. 
? Evaluates and selects from existing and emerging technologies the options
best fitting business and IT strategic needs. 
? Works with governance boards to establish new architecture building block
standards and guidelines as needed: Builds the business case, and determines
common application architectural framework and patterns. 
? Develops and executes a communication plan for new standards, stated
directions, guidelines, etc., as required. 
? Provides input into the enterprise-wide infrastructure target state for a
specific infrastructure architecture. 
? Collaborates with Enterprise Architects in other architectural areas to
ensure comprehensive/cohesive working solutions are developed across
architectures. 
? Stays up-to-date on business initiatives and objectives, particularly as
these relate to infrastructure architecture issues. 

Technology Standards Implementation 

? Consults with key customers across multiple projects regarding the usage
and application of architectural/infrastructure standards for their
technology specialty. 
? Assists customers with understanding how to approach a variance to
architectural/infrastructure standards. 
? Assumes a leadership role in ensuring that new and existing applications
abide by current architectural standards. 
? Assesses the cost implications and operational impact of a variance from
standards and issues an approved variance from standards as needed. 
? Conducts audits of proposed infrastructure designs to ensure adherence to
current architectural standards. 
? Conducts audits during the build out of the infrastructure to track and
document any design changes that occur during build out. Determines severity
of deviations from architectural design and escalates to appropriate parties
as needed. 
? Designs and delivers proof-of-concept for new or improved enterprise-wide
infrastructure technologies that are used across multiple areas of the
business (e.g., desktop operating systems, directory synchronization,
company E-mail, etc.). 

People/Relationship Management 

? May participate in the interviewing process for new team members. 
? Builds strong relationships between teams within IT and between IT and
related business teams. 
? Provides key infrastructure recommendations to Senior IT Management
including CTO and CIO. 
? Maintains professional relationships with peers in other corporations and
outside organizations. 
? Provides technical mentoring to Project, Program, and/or Process
Architects. 


 

Job Criteria

 


Experience Required: 

? Must have good written and verbal communications 
? Must document solutions and recommendations consistently 
? Planning and organization skills 
? 7-10 years of experience 

Experience Preferred: 

? Quick Service Restaurant industry 
? Architecture and design of retail solutions 
? Full application development life cycle 
? Outsourced/offshore application development 
? Windows Forms and Web Forms application development experience 

Required Technology Skills: 

Microsoft .NET 2.0 and 3.x, MS Visual Studio Team System 2008, C#, ASP.NET,
IIS, SQL Server, Oracle, MS Office, Visio 

Preferred Technology Skills: 

WPF, WCF, WF, Windows Cardspace, ASP.NET MVC, ASP.NET AJAX, Silverlight 2.0,
Enterprise Library 4.0, Active Directory, Microsoft Office SharePoint Server
2007, Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 R2, Tivoli Access Manager WebSEAL, Java
EE, WebSphere Application Server 6.x 

Education/Certifications: 

? BS in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information
Management or like degree. MS preferred. 
? Microsoft Certfied Solution Developer (MCSD.NET) preferred.
