Duration: 6+months
RESPONSIBILITIES:
GIS / .NET Developer
Programmer/developer with technical experience in both Microsoft .NET
and Intergraph and good communications and writing skills. Developers
on this project are expected to meet with users to define requirements,
create conceptual and detailed design specifications, code, and test.
SUMMARY:
The following is a summary of the PennDOT GIS technology components:
*The BPR database is housed in Oracle 10g; Oracle's spatial
technology is used to manage most of the GIS attribute data. Oracle 10g
is also used to manage non-spatial data.
* Client utilizes Integraph supported by Bentley Microstation and
IPLOT, Z/I IRASC, Terrashare, Intergraph MGE software and ESRI products.
* Microstation is particularly crucial to their cartographic
users. All published maps are maintained and generated through
Microstation using IPLOT and CAD Script.
* Application development and certain database activities are
based heavily on ASP, ASP .NET, PL/SQL, Visual Basic.NET, Intergraph
GeoMedia, GeoMedia Web Map, Map Text Label Web, and Adobe Scaled Vector
Graphics (SVG).
