Develop and execute scripts and other UNIX utilities Define and configure hardware and software components as necessary to support UNIX initiatives. Provide 7x24 on-call support as part of an on-call rotation. Work closely with other engineers and operations staff to resolve real-time issue Lead/participate in projects of the Systems Engineering team to deliver and support new technology implementations. Contribute to the analysis, design and build of new/existing servers within the UNIX environment Recommend and implement policies on system deployment, use and services. Develop and implement effective server security and control structures for hosted products and environments. Implement, enhance and test high availability and disaster recovery mechanisms. Work closely with various groups to ensure that computing services are met. Perform day to day UNIX System Administration activities. Keeps abreast of new technologies to provide additional services. Job Description and Responsibilities: In support of the expanding company enterprise systems, this individual will work within our Systems Engineering team with responsibilities for overall design, maintenance and administration of all UNIX systems. Candidate must provide a proven ability to work as part of a team, strong customer support and communications skills as well as collaboration, partnering and facilitation abilities. Successful candidate will be personable and give high priority to customer/client satisfaction. Candidates should be detail-oriented, have very strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, strong communication/documentation skills. Candidates should be familiar with fundamental operations concepts such as change control, importance of good documentation and problem ownership. The ability to work productively in a team environment is essential. Candidate is expected to be reachable via pager at all times. Off-hours effort and flexible work hours, including weekend work, are required.
