Job Title: Pl/SQL Developer
Location: Houston, TX

PL/SQL position open -
* Very solid experience in PL/SQL development
* At least 70% of work for past several years must be heavy duty
PL/SQL
* Good experience with packages, stored procedures, triggers, etc.
* Good experience in Performance Optimization of the database
Responsibilities
* Design, develop, test, and support PL/SQL stored procedures,
functions, triggers and other database objects to solve complex business
problems.
* Design and implement complex shell scripts using Korn shell.
* Coordinate with DBAs for administrative tasks like
creating/rebuilding indexes, adding partitions, analyzing tables, etc.
* Be able to performance tune any stored procedure, function,
view, trigger, or query by utilizing all means necessary (indexes,
partitioning, database hints, etc).
* Collaborate with the rest of the AD team to come up with a
realistic and sound solution for a given business problem.
* Should proactively think of ways to improve performance on the
database.
* Ability to think, work and contribute beyond defined
responsibilities.
Skills and knowledge required
* 8-10 years of software development/implementation experience.
* 5-6 years of strong PL/SQL and shell script (Korn shell)
development with the Oracle 10g or 9i database.
* Ability to write/debug complex SQL statements with some
experience in SQL performance tuning.
* Functional knowledge of standard Oracle Workflows.
* Strong analytical skills with experience in writing
functional/technical specifications.
* Ability to handle major development assignments with minimum
supervision.
* Any experience in J2EE (EJB, Servlet & JSP) and Java
technologies is a big plus.
