I have the following opening in Jersey City, NJ for a Windows Server Admin with 7+ yrs of Windows Admin experience.
This is a 6+ months opening that is extendable. Job Description- The role of a Window Server Engineer II is comprised of the following: * Assist in the physical planning, scheduling and installation of new server hardware & software. * Communicate with vendors and other groups to determine the server computing needs of the firm. * Interface with Data Center Operations to ensure server is installed in a timely manner. * Work with Information Security to address vulnerabilities and find the appropriate fixes. * Manage the ongoing patch management schedule inclusive of coordination with application development and quality assurance teams. Communicate, schedule and execute patch management events. * Document and get all work approved via Remedy. * Ensure all approvals and requirements are met before implementing the system changes. * Ensure that any previous documentation is updated with new changes and provide documentation for all new processes and procedures that can assist other team members in maintaining servers. Maintain technical proficiency in all phases of computer operations, data communications, operating systems and applications. * Provide engineering, daily support and implementation services for Intel/Windows production systems. * Troubleshooting includes, but is not limited to; isolating problems, recommending proper solutions and implementing solutions. * Work closely with other technical groups located locally and remotely. * Update problem tickets in a timely manner (creating, researching, referring, closing). Required Experience- Should have knowledge and experience with Windows operating systems and Intel hardware platforms and the functions they perform. (overall 7 years + in Windows Server Administration) * Experience with any or all of the following is preferred: Windows 2000 / 2003 / 2008 Server, Active Directory, System Center Operations Manager 2007, VMWare ESX 3.x. * Technical knowledge and administrative experience with Exchange Server 2003/2007. * Knowledge and experience with any of the following is considered a plus: BES, Enterprise Vault, LCS/OCS, Citrix XenApp/Presentation Server, , RSA Authentication Manager. * Familiarity with Enterprise Configuration Management Systems (ie Bladelogic, Opsware, Tivoli TPM). * Knowledge of server hardware configuration and troubleshooting * A good understanding of networking concepts and technologies including: TCP/IP, DNS, and WINS. * Knowledge with any of all of the following is considered a plus: Batch, VB Scripting, Perl, C# Warm Regards, Priya Altech Star, Inc Princeton, NJ 08540 609-520-9000 X 18 Fax: 609-520-9005 <mailto:[email protected]> [email protected]
