requirement for an UNIX Scripting Engineer - Denver, CO
Duration: 6 months+
Location: Denver, CO
Job description:
This candidate will be involved in developing automation solutions to
automate repetitive and mundane DBA tasks.
Skills
1) Expert in developing large Unix shell scripts with thorough
exception handling and standard coding practices. Must be familiar with
commonly used Unix commands and utilities.
2) Experience with scripting languages like Python/ Ruby/ Pearl/ Java
Script. In particular, experience with Python/Jython is a plus.
3) Experience with developing code in Java/C++/C#
4) Experience working with DB2 UDB/ Oracle / SQL Server databases and
should be comfortable writing and understanding SQL (with table joins,
subquery etc). Experience with running SQL/Stored Procedure through JDBC
is a plus.
5) Experience using database utilities like Export, Import, Load etc.
6) Experience with scripting in the Windows environment (Batch
script, VB Script). Experience with accessing Windows Registry
programmatically is a plus.
7) DBA experience with any of the major RDBMS is nice to have.

environment and ability to improvise test scenarios
