Senior JAVA Developers for a minimum of 6 month contract with our client in the Virginia Beach, VA area. MUST HAVE CERTIFICATION and MINIMUM 8 years of EXP (only phone hire) 5 positions Primary Responsibilities: * Design, develop and implement cost-effective solutions by creating new and modifying existing software applications that are complex in nature. * Serves as an expert in applications development and undertakes the most complex projects requiring additional specialized technical knowledge. * Analyze and validate the most complex system requirements and existing business processes and information systems to ensure desirability, practicality, and resource availability and capability. * Lead in the design, development and implementation of new programs and/or modification of existing applications. * Design, code, test, debug, documents and implements the most complex software applications according to standards. * Provide top-level expertise in the definition and development of specifications and programming for the most complex technical modules, applications, prototypes and computer programs. * Lead all aspects of applications programming and development for multiple, large-scale projects. * Evaluate and provide technical solutions and strategies to the most complex application development problems. Sought as a resource for resolution of the most advanced application development problems and issues. * Determine user requirements, leads application design, plans projects, establishes priorities and monitors progress. Evaluate project status and resource utilization and implements changes to improve the team's effectiveness. * Acts as a technical programming consultant for large-scale projects that include multiple product lines and various interfaces. * Serve as a top-level technical programming consultant for the most complex applications development projects involving multiple disciplines and impacting multiple business units. * Act as a source of direction, training, and guidance for less experienced staff. Key Requirements Include: * Sr. Developers - 8+ years of experience in programming, systems analysis, and enterprise systems development. Project management experience is a plus. * .Must have proven knowledge of computer programming in Java, Java Script, PL/SQL, AJAX, EJB, XML, Oracle, JPS, JDBC, etc. * Ability and availability to travel as needed * Thorough understanding in systems and data processing policies, practices and procedures * Must have knowledge of SDLC * Demonstrated knowledge of project management concepts and techniques required * Must possess strong problem-solving skills and decision-making skills to determine the programming effects on existing systems * Must be able to develop, implement and present applications development strategies * Knowledge of or experience with any of the following is a plus: Subversion (SVN), JIRA, Quality Center, Glassfish, Hibernate, Struts, and Swing, Pentaho commercial open-source business intelligence.
