Tasks include: Configuration / execution of batch jobs, scripts, etc. to enable the “24 hr clock” and monthly and yearly processing User access and administration and functional configuration Proactive and reactive ad hoc inquires for OS status, application health, scheduled processes. Analyze log entries and troubleshoot - resolve issues. Maintain operational support documentation. Report and data correction routine development and management for ad hoc and production Coordinate OS patch management and application upgrades Develop and document operations guides for system maintenance Comply with PG&E practices and procedures for security, SOX, and change control. For patches and new releases, install, configure and administer applications in pre-production environments; participate in pre-QA smoke tests. Interface management to other systems, TNG, Star, CC&B, etc. Backup and recovery coordination and testing Disaster Recovery support Meet or exceed departmental metrics (scorecard) for problem response/resolution timeframes and for internal customer satisfaction with SmartMeter IT Operations services. Provide 24/7 Operational support * * *ESSENTIAL/REQUIRED:* Experience with IT concepts, tools and methodologies UNIX / AIX scripting Solid Oracle/SQL, Sql*Plus and PL/SQL skills, data analysis and troubleshooting skills, be able to research data/application issues in vendor's stored procedure packages Experienced with Weblogic or Websphere application server, knowledge of web services and jms queues * * *MARGINAL/DESIRED:* Experience with providing Operational Support Effectively communicate with internal and external clients Knowledge/experiences with performance engineering Knowledge/experiences of outage management using clustering software such as Veritas and HACMP * * *Addition Information:* This is a senior level position, provided the skills and experience of the successful candidate meet the job requirements.
