Job Title: Sr. Project Manager Location: Chicago, IL (LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY) Duration: 6+ Months Our client, a financial firm in Chicago, is looking for a Project Manager contractor that is PMP certified, with a broad range of experience in the planning and execution necessary to shut down a division of a larger organization. The Project Manager chosen for this role would work with senior management and the PMO office to put together a plan laying out the steps and timing needed for a successful shut down, including a large Data Center. The process would involve the review of existing service and support contracts, organizing current vendors, scheduling the timing of utility shut downs, network re-routing, etc. This role requires the Project Manager to have prior experience working in supporting infrastructure and systems development projects focused in development and integration, and have specifically had experience in closing down Data Centers. This is a long-term contract and an excellent opportunity for the right candidate starting ASAP. Requirements: * Strong PM experience in managing infrastructure projects, systems development, and especially in closing down data centers. * Advanced in project scheduling and project coordination. * Expertise in resource and cost management. * Worked on complex projects with a large number of intra and inter-dependencies. * Work closely, supporting and helping program manager / senior project manager by providing support / help in terms of scheduling, resource planning, budget control, PMLC artifacts, meeting minutes, issue and risk management, etc. * Responsible for the oversight and execution of multiple initiatives and a large number of correlated issues and risks. * Valid PMP certification with at least 7 years of professional experience in a Project Manager role.
