Data Architect
Location: Boston, MA Duration: 3+ months Local Candidates Only Please! Specific Deliverables: - Logical and Physical business intelligence architecture design o Databases, warehouses, marts o Data source integration o Technology architecture - Assist in setup and configuration of tools and technologies across dev, test and production environments - Working with team to develop detailed component designs and standards - Significant contribution to project plans, tasks and staffing - Tracking and status of issues, scope and execution Description The Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Architect is responsible for the strategy, design and implementation of the BI application architecture and systems. The BI and Data architecture works at the highest level of all phases of data architecture; designs databases for recovery, high availability, performance and maintenance; monitors the standards, procedures, integrity and integration of data; defines the overall business intelligence architecture and standards; analyzes data needs and requirements of existing and proposed systems and develops technical, structural and organizational designs and specifications; evaluates technology and products; develops work plans for assigned projects; serves as project lead for software products associated with data. This position requires someone who is hands-on with recent implementation experience with BI and Data tools and technologies from both the application development and infrastructure perspective. Experience Required: - At least 5 years of specialized experience in the design and implementation of BI related technologies, with a high degree of maturity in developing advanced reporting capabilities from a variety of sources. - At least 3 years experience in implementing web based BI solutions for internet, extranet and intranet - At least 3 years experience implementing the above components leveraging Oracle reporting tools and technologies, including OBIEE, Oracle BPM, Web Center - Experience designing and developing public facing business intelligence sites, including portals, dashboards, basic reports (charts, graphs, maps, drill downs) and advanced reports (ad-hoc reporting). - Experience with data integration services and implementing application with ETL and data export capabilities - Experience in developing map based reports with OBIEE and ESRI a plus - Experience with Oracle Hyperion a plus - Experience in both Linux and windows environment - At least 3 year of experience with designing and implementing Oracle based Data Warehouses and or Data Marts - Proven effective execution experience in high visibility, high criticality programs with multiple stakeholders both within and outside of the client organization - Ability to demonstrably illustrate all above experience through: o Technical and functional interviews o Presentation of sanitized deliverables from past projects of similar nature o Multiple client reference testimonials - State and or federal government experience helpful, but not mandatory Skills Required: - Design and implementation of business intelligence and data architecture ranging from simple reporting to advanced ad hoc reporting and analytics - Design and implementation of databases, data warehouses, marts and other data sources to support business intelligence. - Contribution to the infrastructure architecture and application of technologies within infrastructure - Excellent problem solver with the ability to keep many driving factors and requirements in focus - Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment - Ability to understand and be the go to person for the big picture and direction as well as maintaining a good grasp in understanding the detailed requirements and nuances of the solution. - Good mentorship skills and ability to work in a team environment supporting technical and project aspects of team leadership and growth - Strong communication and documentation skills, ability to communicate and interact at executive and junior levels - Consistent attention to detail - Overall high degree of professionalism Warm Regards, Priya Altech Star, Inc Princeton, NJ 08540 609-520-9000 X 18 Fax: 609-520-9005 <mailto:[email protected]> [email protected]
