* * *Configuration Engineer* Duration: 6 months contract. Rate:$ 68 / hr *W2 * Location: Norcross, GA *Responsibilities:* 1.Coordinate the release and configuration of new and updated software products. 2.Responsible for the preparation, distribution, and tracking of products. 3.Coordinate version compatibility and quality control tests between software products. 4.Develop, maintain and coordinate a formal change control program. 5.Maintain multiple versions of a single environment or integrated environment for product support. 6.Create and maintaining backup schedules, technical documentation, and demonstration environments. 7.Maintain versions technical documentation of many versions of products. 8.Assist less experienced configuration analysts with more complex software release issues. *Position Qualifications:* Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent. *Job Related Experience*: Five to seven years of experience in programming, software delivery procedures, systems analysis in the financial services, or closely related field. *Functional Area Skills/Knowledge:* •Strong communications and presentation skills. •Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with good follow-up skills and attention to detail. •Ability to analyze and solve complex technical problems. •Proficient in computer systems and personal computer use. •Possesses extensive knowledge of a distinct skill or function and a thorough understanding of the organization and work environment. •Work is somewhat complex and requires moderate analytical ability. *Additional Skills and Abilities* •Extensive knowledge of one or more source control and configuration management products, preferably Subversion, CVS, Perforce v4 and Visual SourceSafe 6. •Working understanding and dependencies of the Java, WebLogic, GAC, .Net Assemblies, IIS and the MS .Net framework 1.1 / 2.0 / 3.5 on Windows 2000/2003 Server •Strong experience with scalable, distributed enterprise windows environments. •Strong working understanding of Red Hat Linux, Windows Server 2000/2003 operating system. •Strong understanding of IIS 5.0 and 6.0 web servers and web-farm load balancing operations. •Experience in Eclipse, Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0/2003/2005, SQL Server 2005. •Ability to create/modify scripts and automation tools to streamline and enhance process •Advanced understanding of IP addressing and DNS •Advanced understanding of software release workflows. •Ability to create processes and documentation standards •Comfortable in a fast-paced development environment *Requirements Experience* •Minimum 2 years enterprise software configuration management experience •Minimum 2 years experience with IIS web server configuration in a Windows Server 2000 or 2003 environment •Minimum 2 years experience with .Net windows services installation and configuration Required •Required experience managing web applications in a multiple server web farm •Prefer experience with J2SE, .Net, ANT, NAnt, and windows and Unix command line •Prefer experience with Waterfall-based project management and Iterative Development * * *In order to apply for this position please send over your updated resume along with 3 professional references and let me know the best time to call you.
