Job Title: Sr. J2EE Developer with Web 2.0 Exp
Location: San Jose, California
Duration: 12 Months
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Play a key role on the Enterprise Collaboration Platform (ECP) team, as a
support engineer for ECP customers and Ecosystem Partners, working in a
startup like fast pace high growth and visibility environment developing
Cisco Enterprise Social Networking Software/Solution, as a key part of
Cisco's Top 5 priority Collaboration initiative, with a compelling User
Experience (UE), high scalability, performance, openness/extensibility and
quality.
This position requires extensive collaboration with multiple Cisco
Technology Groups (e.g. Video, Unified Communication, WebEx, Policy, etc)
and the ability to quickly develop a wide and deep understanding of the ECP
features, architecture, deployment, interfaces, and implementation in order
to effectively troubleshoot and isolate customer issues from a general high
level to lower level (including coding), and to guide ecosystem partners in
architecting/designing and implementing ECP add-on/extensions through the
publically available ECP interfaces/APIs.
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
1. Requires BSEE/CS combined with at least 10+ yrs related experience, or
MSEE/CS combined with at least 8+ years of related experience in customer
and developer/ecosystem partners support in Java, Web 2.0, OO, GUI, Backend,
and DB.
Here is the priority in terms of skill sets:
When a call comes in this person should be able to debug and problem solve
with other groups, be able to debug (high level, parse through logs),
interact with advanced services, and know UI, Ajax, REST, HTTP, SOAP.
A. Work with customer debug on web based apps
- GUI development with web 2.0 exp
- Debug through a stack of technologies (Please list experience in detail on
submittal sheet)
B. Supporting open interfaces
- REST, SOAP, Web 2.0, etc.
- Open Social Frameworks
- General Web GUI development
Any prior experience with Cisco (i.e. - unified communications, WebEx,
video, etc.) (Please list experience in detail on submittal sheet)
2. Strong troubleshooting skills from a high system level to low level
components, which include looking at and writing code.
3. Strong ability to guide eco-system partners in implementing add-on
solutions on top of ECP interfaces/API.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
. Familiarity with Cisco products is a plus, especially Video, Unified
Communication, WebEx, Policy, UCS/Virtualization, Serviceability.
. Demonstrated excellent skills in Web 2.0 style, widgetized user interfaces
for Web Applications and Portals using standards compliant Advanced
JavaScript, Open Social, DHTML, AJAX, HTML/XHTML, CSS, JSPs, Servlets,
Custom tag libraries etc.
. Solid experience in Object Oriented JavaScript, DOJO, JQuery, Dojo Event
Framework, XHR, Script compression, custom builds
. Custom widgets, gadgets portlets etc that work in cross browsers (IE7,
IE8, Firefox 3.x, Safari etc) and cross platforms (Windows XP, Vista, Mac
OS)
. Expert level understanding of DOM management
. Unit testing and debugging using tools like Firebug, Yslow
. Experience building high performance web sites and portals
. Ability to extend and apply Dojo classes
. Flash
. XML, JSON
. Liferay Portal and Portal Framework
. DB (especially Oracle), JDBC/ODBC.
