Job Title : CICS Mainframe support Consultant Location : NY Duration : 3-6 months Position Description : The Middleware group needs an intermediate level Mainframe engineer to help with day-to-day activities around production support, implementing configuration requests etc around Mainframe based applications like MQ, Grapevine (MSSB's proprietary transport protocol) and External Partner Gateway. Also he is expected to develop support tools including metrics gathering and reporting for all these systems. Skills Required 8+ years using COBOL, VSAM, advanced CICS, JCL and TSO. Advanced CICS technical know-how (e.g. memory management in CICS). Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to work in a team environment and/or as an individual contributor. Ability to analyze and define project requirements. Develop/test/implement technical solutions. Critical and creative thinker for identifying problems and recommending solutions. Skills Desired Knowledge of CICS Web Service and messaging experience (IBM MQSeries) is a big plus.
