Also, if that's all it ends up needing, and you *don't* have root, I'd think setting up a networked/remote serial terminal should allow somebody who does to get in and do it for you in about 2 minutes flat. (Pretty easy to do with a MikroTik RouterBoard.)
Finally, hope you had backup of the config before it went bad. -- Nathan -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Nathan Anderson Sent: Thursday, March 02, 2017 8:36 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Telrad] Fixing & Resetting an EPC the hard way Assuming that you *actually* have root access (few do these days), you can default an EPC (or an eNB) very simply by: rm -rf /mnt/flashfs/cdb ...or probably better, just rename the directory out of the way (just in case) rather than completely blowing it away: mv /mnt/flashfs/cdb /mnt/flashfs/cdb.bad Issue a 'reboot', and once it comes up, you should be able to talk to it on 192.168.1.1 on port 1 w/o any VLAN tagging. If that works then you can feel free to 'rm -rf' the cdb.bad directory at that point. If that doesn't work, then something is wrong at a much lower level, and an RMA will probably be necessary. Telrad Support seems to want to RMA it. Console support works fine for root access. I was just wondering, support doesn't seem to know how to tftp upload a firmware through the serial port, like you can for a router or switch.... Does anyone have any information on how to reformat the epc, and upload fresh firmware (with a ground zero config)? Having a day without our EPC is unacceptable, and it seems like a reformat would be the way to go to bring it back fast. (If it's possible) Thanks! _______________________________________________ Telrad mailing list [email protected] http://lists.wispa.org/mailman/listinfo/telrad _______________________________________________ Telrad mailing list [email protected] http://lists.wispa.org/mailman/listinfo/telrad _______________________________________________ Telrad mailing list [email protected] http://lists.wispa.org/mailman/listinfo/telrad
