Which version of Jahia are you expeirencing... It
should work so perhaps a bug...
How do I attach the skill filters or the other

I am not sure I understand you. Do you want to
add a new column + a new filter in your page?
Then you will have to modify the back-end JSP
template (cf doc template). If you just want to
reuse the skill content, perhaps just try to
validate the page (or the home page, i do not
remmeber if the skills are directly attached to the home page or not)
