That is not how I'd do it.
create your latex with TT and then
either
tex->dvi->pdf with latex,dvi2pdf
or
tex->pdf with pdftex or something likethat
That second option (tex->pdflatex->pdf) is pretty much what the LaTeX
filter does behind the scenes.
