MACAO call for male actors
MACAO is a vivid theatrical adaptation of the 1952 classic exotica noir film, originally directed by Josef von Sternberg and Nicholas Ray. It is the story of a man who arrives in an exotic foreign port in which nothing is as it seems, his relationship with an amazing woman he meets there, and the near constant danger to his life. The city will redeem him...if it doesn't kill him first.
MACAO is a couple of rogues short of a gallery, and needs two male actors (one lead, one supporting) to complete a solid, talented, and diverse ensemble. Auditions for these two roles will be held at
The Dark Room 2263 Mission Street (at 19th) Monday-Tuesday, January 24 and 25, 7pm
Auditioners will read from script fragments.
The process: Read-throughs begin on January 31. Rehearsals thrice weekly thru February (no actor needed for all), with full run-throughs the first week of March. Tech week the second week of March, with performances Fri-Sat the last three weeks of March. All rehearsals and performances at the Dark Room.
