Hi, Prabakaran.

I'm sure you've already seen Robert's very detailed e-mail reply to your
question.

As for our instability issues with Apache for Windows I don't think we
ever got to the bottom of what exactly was causing the issue (app servers
stopped taking requests). It was during a very busy registration period
and we simply pointed our servers back to a Windows/Apache Witango 5.5
cluster. We had been running Apache on Windows for a long time without
issue. Though there were some patches to some witango modules (.so files)
at one point. If memory serves me correctly, I think the Windows Event
Viewer application log did show the httpd/apache process crashing.

When registration calmed down I rebuilt the Terascript 6 cluster with
Windows/IIS 7 as the web server and we haven't had any problems since. We
made it through or busiest fall registration with IIS fronting T6 without
any issues. For what it's worth IIS is way more easily configured and
managed on Windows than was Apache for Windows. Not to mention the Apache
for Windows binaries always lagged behind the unix versions. Don't know
why I waited to so long to use IIS.

Sorry I don't have any specifics for you.

We're looking forward to bringing our code up to T7 standards and getting
our website moved to many individual web/app server instances per physical
and virtual server.

- Matt
