Hi Robert,

Thanks for being willing to create a new version of the server, but there is a
lot of effort and red tape involved in getting a new version of the server
installed on our production machines, so I’ll use one of the two other routes
you suggested.

Another question – will it at some point be possible to use the PUT method in
the Web Call action and specify body data to put instead of having to put a
file? I imagine this working similar to the Post Data tab that appears when the
method is set to POST, but a Body Data tab instead when the method is set to
PUT.

Subject: RE: TeraScript-Talk: PUT-ting Files Using Web Call Action

Richard,

Unfortunately this is due to a bug in the server.

This issue is a simple name mismatch. TeraScribe is writing the XML element
“File” into the TAF, however, the server is looking for an element named
“ActionFile”.

One immediate work around available to you is to open the TAF in a text editor
and change the name of the element. This would allow you to continue testing,
however this is awkward at best because when opening the TAF in TeraScribe, it
won’t read that value and you’ll have to reset it – then when you save you’ll
have to rename the element again.

Usually when I have a one-off hack like this to deal with I encapsulate the
action in a TCF, edit that TCF with the text editor, and then not change it
again. This would be something you can do today.

As for getting this fixed in a release, since 7.1.3 was recently posted, I
don’t have any immediate plans for a release. What I can do for you is fix this
and provide what would be version 7.1.4 – these “even numbered” versions are
internal testing releases. It doesn’t really matter what the number is,
however, and there are only a few changes since 7.1.3 release. If this is
acceptable to you, let me know and I’ll make the build this weekend.

Robert

Subject: TeraScript-Talk: PUT-ting Files Using Web Call Action

Hi,

I’m trying to use the Web Call action to put a file, however, every time the
action result is

-306 No file name is specified.

In the Web Call action, the Method is set to PUT, the URL in the URL field is
valid, and the File field is filled out with an absolute path (for instance,
D:\Inetpub\wwwroot\hello.txt).

Terascript has enough access rights to read and write files in that location
and the file opens without any issues when I click on Start -> Run on the web
server itself and enter the same path.

What could be causing this error?

The server is running TeraScript Server 7.1.3 [Advanced Edition] on Windows
Server 2008 R2.
