TeraScribe 6 ships with a Java 6 JVM installed, it’s in the jre folder in the
install root.

It’s possible that a recent patch modified that jre, or perhaps removed a
dependency.

One thing to try is in a command prompt in /jre/bin: .\java –version – this
should run properly and return a few lines about the version (likely 1.6.0_26
or thereabouts)

If that fails, then that’s your problem.

I think my suggestion at this point would be to try to reinstall TeraScribe. If
possible, make a restore point first.

Robert

Subject: TeraScript-Talk: JVM Problem

Hello,

I am running windows 7 via VMWare Fusion on a mac OS 10.10.5 and have had
Terrascribe 6 running well for a while (connecting to a Terascript7 server).
Today however, when I try to launch I get a message that saying

“could not create the Java virtual machine”

I see it in the control panel

1.8 1.8.0_111 http://java.sun.com/products/autodl/j2se
C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_111\bin\javaw.exe
      true x86

The agency may have pushed an update to windows, but I didn’t see any evidence
of it. I did have to upgrade the mac to OS 10.11.6. Is this the source of the
problem?

Any help appreciated.

Subject: TeraScript-Talk: TeraScript Server 7.1.3 patch released

A bug was found in the initial release of 7.1.3.

In rare circumstances this bug will cause data source usernames and passwords
to decrypt incorrectly.

This issue has been corrected and new installers are now available. If you’ve
already downloaded and installed 7.1.3, please download the installer again and
redo the installation.

Even if your data sources are working normally, you are encouraged to update
since the bug may show up in other parts of the platform.

The installer has the same name, however when you run the installer the first
screen will report 7.1.3.1 indicating this patch.

Likewise the executable will not show any differences and @VERSION will return
7.1.3, however the .exe file itself will be dated today.
