You can get the latest Java JDK separately or bundled with NetBeans from: http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp For the bundled version, use the: JDK 6 Update 10 with NetBeans 6.1; I have been using it and it is great. I am a C++ programmer when it comes to image processing but now I am trying it in Java for fun. It is much easier to load images, view them, convert between formats, and saving them in Java. As for processing, it is much faster in C++ and also more secure since people do reverse engineer any Java code with publically accessible tools that convert .class to .java. Please correct me if I am wrong or not up-to-date on this. The Sun site has also documentation (downloadable) and a tutorial if you need. Hopefully, Nguyeng will post what Siranqa (76yrsold) here so we too will benefit from the installation of Tesseract GUI in Java. Hussein Al-Hussein
