Dear Banerjee, reg. run in windows - Window expert users will test it no doubt. I also installed on Ubuntu and just now testing and feedback to you. Sucessfully installed tesseract 2.03 as suggested by you. I also installed Hindi tessdata as well as Bengali data for experiment. Unfortunately no hindi.tif and ben.tif are not available/included in the tar for testing purpose. It would be nice also included in the tar file for other users benefit.
