I added a -v option to do exactly this, but quite recently. If you type 'tesseract -v' and it tells you "Tesseract 3.00", then you have Tesseract 3, otherwise you'll get an error message. > 2. Try "svn up" - it will either update files that have changed, or it will tell you that you are at the most recent revision. > 3.
