Well, kind of: Tesseract 3 has been available for quite a while now,
but it hasn't been properly released, which makes this a bit of a
Catch-22 - if the problem you're experiencing is a problem in
Tesseract, even if I find a way to fix it, you won't be able to use
it.

I can't really say where or what the problem is without looking at the
image, though it seems likely that the particular format is not
supported (TIFF is a container format, the actual image data can be
encoded in a number of ways, some supported, some not). If the file is
a reasonable size, you can send it to me off-list and I'll take a look
at it.
