Please forgive me if I repeat anything that was discussed in the call itself. I was
not able to listen in on the call due to another meeting. Two things, 01) Excellent
job on getting the meeting minutes out so quickly, and 02) regarding the B2B
discussion and in particular the Companion Guide, there may be another WEDI SNIP sub
work group going in this direction already with their Trading Partner Agreement White
Paper at
http://snip.wedi.org/public/articles/Trading113000.pdf. We all may benefit from some
clear distinction between content of these "things" whatever they're called.

Thanks!

Meeting Minutes

October 3, 2002

Conference # (703)736-7290 Pass Code 1315339#

Minutes:

Meeting Minutes and Agendas:
Time Keeper: Paul
Minutes: Brandi

>From this point out, there will be an attempt to send an agenda prior to all calls,
>along with minutes from the previous meeting. This will ensure that the agenda is
>followed as well as keep to a time schedule. Excellent feedback was received for
>sticking to today's time and agenda!

November WEDi/SNIP Summer In Phoenix Arizona:

Positive feedback was returned in regards to the panel questions that were distributed
to the group within the agenda for today's call, and that these questions will produce
good discussion. Sue reminded the group that presenters for the summit (Ed
Hafner,Sunny Singh, Kepa Zubeldia) use the powerpoint template that Wedi endorses for
their presentation (presentation due to Kristin by October 25th), and that panel
members (Mark Charles, Dr. Timothy Kovac, John Lilleston, Sunny Singh, Kepa Zubeldia,
Brandi Wyatt) all forward bios to Kristin by October 4th.

Test Data Repository:

Susan Fritz took all dental submissions and compiled the dental technical scenario
spreadsheets for submission to the test data repository. This information has been
forwarded for review and publication. Paul Root is completing the last portion of the
institutional scenarios and is projected to have that delivered by next week. Cynthia
Korman gave an update concerning the compilation of Accumed test files and where they
are in their approval process to de-identify and release these files for submission to
the repository.

There was discussion deliberating the need for a "Liability Disclaimer" in regards to
the submission/retrieval of test data from the repositories. "Submitters" are
reviewing with their respective legal teams to decide if "blanket" disclaimers will
cover them, or if they need their own disclaimer per submission. Secondly, test data
needs to be de-identified of its patient health information within the files. Thirdly,
a concern regarding the ability for anonymous attribution is desired by some
submitters.

Business-to-Business Paper Updates:

There was a suggestion that definitions/requirements need to be composed for key-terms
in the B2B paper and to model that section as the group did in the
Testing/Certification paper. Also, possibly define and add a section in regards to
companion documents, what they can entail, how they are handled etc. Add a section
that discusses/defines practices observed and make the recommendation for one solid
B2B testing process (the example given that Provider A has to test separately with 5
different payers - each will have a different way of doing things, and that our "solid
recommendation" may ease some of that burden and give organizations a good foundation
to test.
 <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
Before re-writing the paper, the group would like to compile feedback on current
practices in how they are asking their trading partners to test (in an attempt to get
a feel for what is being done) and to educate the group on practices. Ed, Paul, Brandi
have volunteered to start putting together questions for a possible survey to be
distributed at the Summit or to the listservs or both (this is up for further
discussion).

Recommendations on Interpretation of Implementation Guide Rules:

The TCS is making the suggestion that the creation of a sub workgroup/consortium be
formed to coordinate interpretation or guide rules. It is requested that this issue be
raised within Wedi management, and also to seek the participation of CMS.

Agenda Items for the Next Meeting:

Formulate list of organizations that are willing to host repository test data and
decide how the information will be broken up.
Further discuss a Payer Survey for testing procedures.

Next Meeting Reminder: will be held October 17 at 11 a.m. eastern time. Call-in number
for the meeting is +1.703.736.7290 pin 1315339#.
