If you are talking about quartertones, I know another way of writing
them (which I guess could be included rather easily in MusixTex by one
of the gurus ;-) : simply add an arrow (up or down depending on whether
you want a quartertone above or below) on one of the vertical bars of a
sharp (or natural, or flat) symbol. This notation has been used by
Bart�k (in the 2nd concerto for violin). I hope you understood what I
meant... if not I can send a scan of this part of the concerto...
