As you see there is a second possibility: spammers subscribe to the
list and take the from: lines for spamming. Are you sure that all
who got the junk are editors? Could it be that it hit those people
active in the newgroup? In my opinion, a policy change is not necessary.
However, the newsgroup administrator may have occasionally a look into
the subscribers' list and check for obvious intruders.
As I mentioned in an earlier message, other newgroups also got
the same problems. Its somewhat bothering, but the time effort to press
the 'd' key is not that big.
