Hello all,

it seems that OpusTeX is better suitable for typesetting gregorian chant than MusiXTeX. I think it's because opusgre.tex has developed further compared to musixgre.tex.

Preprocessors currently don't seem to support OpusTeX but MusiXTeX only. That's why I use MusiXTeX for modern notation and OpusTeX for gregorian notation. As long as I don't need a combined document which includes both modern and gregorian notation I have no problems with this solution.

In private mail Daniel Taupin asked me which features are missing in musixgre. He wants to enhance musixgre and needs to know what to implement. Maybe it will become as good for gregorian chant as opusgre currently is.

I don't want to be the only one who discusses this topic. I'm not a TeXpert and I'm only a beginner in gregorian chant typesetting.
So I would like to have your opinions.

I know there are a few people who use OpusTeX with opusgre for typesetting gregorian notation. Is there anyone using musixgre for real notation work (and not only to show that it's possible)?

To OpusTeX users:
Do you use OpusTeX for modern notation?
Would you like to use MusiXTeX for gregorian notation?

To all:
If musixgre will be extended, what features would you like to be added?

Bodo
