Hi,

Thanks for all the responses, especially to Johan, who gave me just the
answer I was looking for about setting the flat over five.

For those who asked, the piece in question is the first sonata from Heinrich
Biber's Fidicinium Sacro-Profanum from 1683. The flat over five figure
occurs quite often, but there is the occasional five over flat as well (and
also, strangely enough, a five over flat 3). My example is not from the
original, unfortunately, but the "Denkmaeler der Tonkunst in Oesterreich"
edition of 1960, which brings me to the next question.

If I understand what I've read about copyright law correctly, scholarly
editions with critical apparatus are covered only for a period of 25 years.
I am assuming that this pertains to the edition that I have, because the
editor lists all of the corrections that he made. If I reset the score,
omitting the realization of the continuo line and only giving the figured
bass, would I be able to post my score and parts to the archive? Or should I
keep it to myself and we all pretend I never wrote this?

Diane
