Thank yoy Christian and Olivier
I tried some combinations and found the following:
- I suppose the lowest note must be the left one
according to Gardner Read, page 71, there are these rules for placing note-heads at intervals of seconds:
they "should be written with the stem between the note-heads ... The higher pitch is always placed to the right, never to the left, regardless of stem direction ... Observe that the "adjacent" tone (which creates the interval of the second [ie the _higher_ of the two notes, my comment]) is placed to the right of the chord when the stem is upward, and to the left of the chord when the stem goes down ... If the chord consists of unstemmed notes - whole notes or dotted whole notes - the note placement is exactly the same as though a stem were being used"
- If shifting a note to the left, the two notes are closer, this has consequences for the dots (distance must be adapted) - i tried also a definition with loff and roff - this definitions are not implemented in pmx.tex because they occurs very rare i suppose
