I have made a simple PMX editing mode for Emacs. I did not care for the basic LaTeX editing mode when dealing with music. I am not an emacs programmer so this is a very simple mode based upon generic-x. It does however provide some very helpful syntax highlighting to PMX files, such as bar lines, /, comments, slurs, [], directives (Tt, Tc, Ap, Iifl, etc...). It also highlights key changes, meter changes, and a few other things.
It makes my life easier. I will be interested in comments. It can be downloaded at:
