Dear Christian
I had also problems using your packages. But I didn't have time to look into details for a sort of bug report. What do I have to do to remove what they have installed? Closing security holes?
Luckily the PMX- and M-Tx packages contain core binaries only (pmxab, scor2prt & prepmx) installed in /usr/local/bin. If you want to remove these binaries and relocate them to /sw/bin you may need to perform the 'rm' operations through 'sudo'.
I'm more than unsure what security holes installation of the PMX- and M-Tx packages could imply. According to how I interprete the OSX Package information I've looked up directory permissions within the /usr/local directory might have been changed!
And another problem: I failed to install dvipng on my machine. The configure script stumbles across the kpathsea library. It cannot find/use it although it must be there and working since TeX works. How is this on your machine? Do you use dvipng, or is there an alternative? dvipng seems not to be supproted by the fink collection.
I didn't even know about dvipng which is not part of the Redhat Fedora distribution I'm using on my home workstation. I don't find any .rpm distributions with rpmfind.net. But the tar.gz source distribution builds with no problem under Fedora Core 2.
On my osx laptop I've installed tex from the TeX Live distribution. When I try building dvipng from source on the OSX laptop I don't get as long as to check for kpathsea because configure stops due to a missing libpng.
For my daily sheet music editor tasks I generate the .png previews I need with Gimp that lets me crop the pages manually, for example cutting off page numbers and the like.
