yes i am aware of that possibility but was hoping to avoid it !
I should say this is because Solaris is still my prime O/S for all of my
various Music-Tex related software and free pascal does not have
a binary for Solaris and I'd like to avoid trawling through
yet another software install-from-source process if I can avoid
it !
I've found a solaris port of FreePascal v. 1.0.10:
