Thank you very much Don,

And again i learned something:
I can use AI and Ai together, while Ai overrides the AI on the current page
In my piece (2 systems/page and only 1 on the 1st page) this was the solution:
AI.95
Ai.55
on the first page, to make the system on the first page thinner

Rule #1: PMX doesn't ever interpret any inline TeX commands. So PMX cannot possibly know that you've changed interstaff.

Rule #2: Because of the way the arpeggio is defined in MusiXTeX, you must explicitly specify the vertical size in \internotes. It would be better if you could say "go from this note in this staff to that note in that other staff", (just like you can for beams), but sorry, you can't.

If you change \interstaff indirectly with Ai instead of with in-line TeX, you give PMX a chance to get it right. According to my experiments, it seems to work.

Subject: [TeX-music] pmx - arpeggio, 10 staffs, changing interstaff

Hi all,

When i change the interstaff on a piece with 10 staves, then the arpeggio
get longer on diminuing interstaff.
Removing the upper staff makes the arpeggio right
Removing the \\interstaff{10}\ also does.

This is an example that shows it:

===============
    10   -8 2 2 1 1 1 1 1 1      4  4  4  4     0  0
   1 1 16 0.15

bbttbttttt
./
h250m
\\interstaff{10}\
% 1
c43 g c2 /
c43 g c2 /
r2 r4 c45 ? ze zg  /
r2 r4 \loffset{4}{\octfinup{12}{.6}}\ e45 zg zc ? /
c43 g c2 /
r2 r4 e44 |/
rp /
rp /
rp /
rp /
================

The wrong length can be adjusted by using musixtex commands in stead of
?...?, but still, i am curious to hear if i did something wrong.

Thanks for helping
Andre
