I tried dvips and ps2dpf without options and I obtain a pdf with document
properties = 215.9 x 279.4 mm
If I say ps2pdf -sPAPERSIZE#a4 the property becomes 209.9 x 297 mm
If I say dvips -tA4 but ps2pdf without option I obtain the same property.
My MusixTeX source begins with:
\voffset-1in\advance\voffset10mm\vsize297mm\advance\vsize-15mm\advance\vsize-24pt
\hoffset-1in\advance\hoffset10mm\hsize210mm\advance\hsize-20mm
but I don't think this matters.
