the tug office is rather sparsely staffed, aiui.  perhaps you should
propose an increase in subs to pay for more staffing hours?

as for diddling with the mailing lists ... i suggest you offer (or
encourage someone else with the appropriate skils to offer) to work on
the relevant part of the mail archives.  volunteers are scarce, and
appropriately qualified volunteers seem to work full-time already.
