Thanks to you and to Dirk for your help. I was not aware either that
\triolet had been redefined since the version of MusixTeX that I was
using ten years ago, or that the version of the manual I was
consulting (which didn't mention \txtfont at all) didn't document the 
current behaviour of \triolet!
